The Wows Collection
Plan a weekend away and take responsibility for everything yourself so she doesn’t need to worry about the kids, the dogs, and the house. A less-expensive option would be to help the kids find places to sleep over one night and then surprise her with an outstanding dinner and a bottle of champagne at home alone.
A great option for a Sunday morning: Bring her coffee and a copy of the New York Times—and pick up a video or two to entertain the kids.
If she is going to the doctor for an annual check-up, go with her and then take her to lunch afterward. That shows her, more clearly than anything you could say, how much you cherish her.
Buy a book of poetry and read one to her each night, looking into her eyes and telling her how important she is to you.
Run the vacuum cleaner before she has to.
Take a shower together and wash her hair.
Bring her fresh-cut flowers home for no occasion. Even better, deliver them to her office so she can brag about how wonderful you are.
Take her dancing. If you don’t dance, take lesÂsons — that will really surprise her.
Go to a different place when you eat out every time instead of the same routine. Ask the chef to “wow you to make the evening particularly memorable.
Take cooking classes and make her a special meal.
After dinner one weeknight, draw her a bubble bath so she can relax while you clean the kitchen and watch the kids.
Go to your local craft store and scope out all the neat things that you could make her. It’s great stress relief for you and she will cherish the personal touch.
Do what she wants at least one day a month (e.g., go shopping without rolling your eyes, or go to a museum or the park).
Spend a Saturday afternoon cleaning out the gaÂrage or doing some other household chore before she starts nagging you about it.
Whenever she starts to stress out, give her the timer and ask her to take an hour off on her own to do whatever she likes.
