Celebrate the small stuff — consciously look for positive things in life and mark them with special gifts or hand-drawn cards.
Polish the silver for no reason.
Fill up her car with gas and have the oil changed so she doesn’t have to.
Clean out her car, or have it detailed while she’s at work one day.
Make an extra effort to be charming to her friends and family (particularly the ones she knows aren’t your favorite people in the world).
Give her a kiss on the lips when you see her and keep your eyes open.
Hold hands with her somewhere she doesn’t expect you to, like at a Little League game.
Walk her to the restroom and wait for her to walk back.
Make sure the waiter or waitress takes her order first (even if they ask you first).
Offer her the salt and pepper before you use it.
Wait for her to start to eat before you do.
Walk on the outside of the sidewalk.
Open the door for her, particularly the car door.
Hand-make a card with a saying that’s important to both of you. After she’s had a couple of days to enjoy it, give her a special frame for it.
